It has been decided and announced by Education Minister "Rana Mashood" in an event at Al-Hamra Hall to distribute free laptops among the students who have passed Matriculation. He also said that free laptops distribution will be started within 10 days. He also stated that every year 2.5 million students gets admission in government colleges but this year the number raised to 4 million.
With Rs. 11 billion of Punjab Education Endowment Fund, more than 70,000 students are continuing their education, while in the remote areas of the province, 1.5 million deprived children are being given education through "Punjab Education Foundation" enlightening vouchers via private schools.
All the students who got 78% marks in Matric will be eligible for free laptops scheme in Punjab.
