World's Second Largest Robbery in Chile Airport

8 thieves entered and looted 7 million dollars from the Cargo trucks at the Chile Airport on 13th Aug 2014. The robbers arrived in 3 vehicles and looted when security guards were unloading the money from trucks nearly at 5:00 a.m, according to the Argentine newspaper El Clarin.

Robbers arrived earlier that morning wearing airport personnel uniforms and hid until the Brinks van arrived on to tarmac. The trucks were taking the money for an air delivery to banks and mining operations in northern Chile when thieves attacked and looted the money with latest weapons. They put the money in 2 cars and went away successfully. The police also did nothing when this robbery was in place.

In 2006, the same robbery of 922 million pesos was performed where thieves looted money in the similar way from an airport. "Brink’s Security" was appointed to secure the money trucks on airport, but at the time of robbery they could not do anything. Thieves managed to escape from the spot with money successfully.
